And I’m very thankful for their. Thank you, guys. Okay. Well, you get your Bibles and turn with us this evening to the book of Romans chapter one. I gave you just enough of a warning about tonight’s service this morning as we closed that we have turned a corner in the book of Romans from the introductory remarks of chapter one versus one through seven into a thorough discussion of what we call the readiness to preach the section from verses eight through 17.

And tonight, we’re going to endeavor into a new section. And I will make it very clear to you before we begin our thoughts, beginning in verse number 18 this evening, that this section of the Book of Romans addresses a modern trend that seems to be overwhelming our country today. It is. It is in Florida, in cities like St Petersburg, cities like Fort Lauderdale and and places even in Tampa.

We are experiencing an inundation of what we used to call the alternate lifestyle. That term has been taken away and has been replaced by a long list of things that they choose to describe themselves as in the homosexual community like LGBTQ. I a plus. Now I know what the L stands for. I know what the B stands for.

I know what the Q stands for, and I don’t know what I stands for. I don’t know what a stands for, and I sure don’t know what the plus stands for. And I’m not trying to be humorous, but there seems to be a a massive, massive change of lifestyle that is becoming more evident and more visible today than it ever has been before.

God’s Word is not silent on this subject. It is not silent on this subject. We had a parent in the school who threw a fit, I mean, through just a big fit and said, Look, it’s okay for my son to be gay. And it was a it was a a a big scene, a big nasty, crazy looking mess.

And this this kind of thing is happening more and more and more and more Christians are being expected to change what we believe the Bible teaches on this matter of homosexuality and lesbianism and because God’s word is so clear on this, we can’t change our position. Can I get an amen on that? And I know the pressure is on because almost none of us are exempt from family members who are struggling with this type of a sin.

There’s something different about the sin of homosexuality. I would love to be able to stand up here tonight and tell you that it’s no different than stealing and it’s no different than adultery or it’s no different than other things. But the Bible, in fact, says something quite different about the sin of homosexuality. It speaks of homosexuality and lesbianism as a level of sin, a new low level of sin that does not seem to be identified with other levels of sin that may be more common in our world today.

So before I go too far into this, what I want to do is I want to read a large portion of Romans chapter one. I will also tell you that my only intentions are to begin talking about this section of Romans one tonight. And so don’t sweat it when I read so much. Don’t let it don’t let it scare you.

But if you’re able to stand, I would like for you to I’d like to ask you to do so. ROMANS Chapter one. And I’m going to begin reading in verse number 18. And to be quite honest with you, I’m not sure where we’re going to stop, so just keep your Bible handy and open. There as we look at these portions together.

ROMANS Chapter one, beginning in verse number 18, If you have your place there, church tonight, we see you, man. Okay, let’s get a deep breath. Are you ready? Verse 18 for the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all on godliness and unrighteousness of men. Now that’s the that’s the generic opening. The wrath of God is revealed against all on godliness and all unrighteousness of of men who hold the truth in unrighteousness verse 19 because that which may be known of God is manifest.

Just notice it here in them, for God have showed it unto them, for the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal Power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse. That’s what I’m going to talk to you about tonight, then in verse 21, because that when they knew God, they glorified him not as God.

Neither were thankful, but became vain in their imaginations and their foolish heart was dark and professing themselves to be wise. They became fools and change the glory of the incorruptible God into and into an image made like to corruptible man and to birds and four footed beasts and creeping things. This is the imagination of man. Verse 24 Wherefore God also gave them up to unclean ness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves.

And now the the passage begins to address the homosexual lifestyle. Verse 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator who is blessed forever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections. Notice the terminology, their vile affections for even their women did change the natural use, and of that which is against nature, and likewise also the man leaving the natural use of the woman burned in their lust one toward another, men with men working that which is unseen lee and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error, which was me.

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind to do those things which are not convenient, being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness, full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignancy, whisperers, back biters, haters of God, the spiteful, proud and disobedient excuse me, proud boosters, inventors of evil things disobedient to parents without understanding covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable and merciful, who knowing the judgment of God that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only to do the same, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

I don’t think I don’t think there’s any ambiguity there, do you? I think it’s pretty clear how God feels on the subject. We just need to understand that point of view better so you can be seated. And thank you for your referencing of God’s Word tonight. Chapter four excuse me. Chapter one verses 18 through 32 is a section here that I’m beginning to understand as man’s rebellion against God’s revelation.

One of the things that I’m going to take the time to point out tonight, if I can, are the last two words of verse number 20 without excuse, without excuse. I want to focus in on those two words this evening and the surrounding immediate context that supports those two words. I think that’s the key to understanding at least verses 18 through 21.

More information can come later about the rest of the portion. But excuses have become a part of modern American life and the global culture is really giving a lot of credulity to the excuse making lifestyle. In other words, everyone has an excuse for while they are for what they do, for how they behave. And for every occasion of responsibility.

It appears that there is a way to be excused from it. For example, when we if you lived through the 1990s, you remember the Clinton administration and you remember how President Clinton behaved himself very unwisely and was a very profane man. And I think anybody with half a brain, one good eye and a broken pencil, we all knew that President Clinton probably was not the best presidential material that we’ve ever seen.

I think we can all probably agree with that, those of us who lived through that decade. But he was able to sort of escape penalty because in almost every circumstance there seems to be excuses. And since the Clinton administration, our country itself has seen a really fast paced downward spiral of people being able to say, well, let me tell you why I’m not to blame for the way that I am.

And there are men cheating on their wives who won’t accept responsibility, but in fact make excuses for their wives, cheating on their husbands, who don’t take responsibility but make excuses. And then there are lifestyles that people are claiming and they’re not willing to accept any judgment for that. And they’ll even blame God and say, God made me this way.

Now, unfortunately, this especially applies in the realm of the church. Even things like church attendance is being excused and has become a sideline. To many, the concept of the 100 fold Christian is very, very hard to illustrate today because we seldom ever find anyone who really meets that description. Yet God expects that from his children. Now, people have made up petty excuses about church for many, many centuries.

One of the excuses I’ve heard every time I went to church, they were asking for money. Have you heard that? Another one, The people with whom I had to sit were not very friendly. How about this one? The pews were too hard and uncomfortable. Or the pastor never came to see me. Or How’s about this? The pastor made a decision which which I could not agree or some services went past noon and I was late getting home.

I’ve heard all of these the musicians singing numbers I have never heard before or how about this one? The services are scheduled one hour when I want to do other things. Or my parents took me to too many churches when I was growing up, or since I read the book on religion, I feel that I know more than the pastor knows.

Anyhow, and this one here really tickled me. I didn’t want to take my children because I wanted them to choose for themselves what church they like best. These of all become excuses for people who don’t want to go to church and don’t want to accept responsibility for so I. I found it interesting that someone took that list of excuses and said, okay, let’s apply this to the ball game.

Now think about it. Every time I went to the ball game, they were asking for money. The people at the ball game with which I had to sit were not very friendly. That doesn’t keep you away though, does it? The seats at the ball game were too hard and uncomfortable. Some of the most uncomfortable seats I’ve ever sat in in my life were at the ball game, but yet they packed that thing out every week.

How about this one? The coach never came to see me. The referee made a decision which which I could not agree on. Some games went into overtime and I was late getting home. The band played numbers I’ve never heard before. Check this one out. The games are scheduled when I want to do other things. Here’s a good one.

My parents took me to too many games when I was growing up. Since I read a book on sports, I feel that I know more than the coaches. Anyhow, I didn’t want to take my children because I wanted them to choose for themselves what sport they liked best. The reality is that if you want to make excuses for not serving the Lord, you’re going to find plenty of excuses out there.

Isn’t that true? But the Church and the Bible are God’s chosen methods for conveying spiritual truths to His people today. How does God choose to communicate to us if it’s not directly from the Scripture, it can be secondarily from a sermon, from the Scripture, and neglecting either the church or the Scripture is in fact in the Bible, classified as a sin.

And when hoping to hear the Lord speak, we know that there’s a place where his word is preached. And so we should not excuse ourselves from that kind of place. On top of all of that, God’s revelation is readily available. The Word of God is His tool, his specific revelation. And when the word of God is not available, man still is without excuse.

And when I was in college, I remember one of my teachers asking a question in class about the proverbial pygmy in a cave. I didn’t understand it until he began to explain it, and I said, okay, I get that. And his illustration was, What about the person who’s never been to a church? What about the person who’s never held a Bible in his or her hand, or the person who’s never had a pastor or the person who’s never even heard the name Jesus?

What about that person? It’s interesting. That question came up last last month in one of my Bible classes, and this young lady who raised her hand and very quietly and modestly asked that question, she said, Pastor Bailey, she said, God won’t send somebody to hell, Willy. He will not send somebody to hell if they’ve never had a Bible or been to a church or something.

And that illustration came back to me about the pygmy in the cave. The person who is in the deepest, darkest jungle of some third world country, never held a Bible, never heard a preacher, never sat in a church service, never heard a radio ministry, never been given up a gospel tract. They are completely and entirely ignorant of the word altogether.

Will God send that person to hell if they die in that condition? I don’t want you to answer that out loud. I want you to, at least for a moment, listen to what I have to say about it. The answer is yes. If that person dies, they go to hell to. He said, Well, I’m not sure that’s fair.

Well, one thing we’re going to learn in the book of Romans chapter number one is God is not answerable to our definition of fairness. God is God and you are not. He is Lord and I am not. And what judgments he makes are binding, whether we sympathize with it or not, they are still binding judgments. And so what about this this pygmy in the cave?

The Bible says in verses 18 through 21, especially at the end of verse number 20, they are without excuse. They cannot, at the judgment, stand there and say, I didn’t know there was a God because I didn’t have a pastor or a church or a gospel tract or a radio ministry. I didn’t know there was a God. How was it made clear to them that there is a God without a preacher, without a church, without a Bible?

How is that made clear? Well, my friend, they’re under the same stars at night. The new insight that you and I are under, they see the same sunrise and said the you and I see they experience the cycle of weather and seasons the same way that you and I do. They have a landscape wherever they are, that when they look at that landscape and the vastness of it and possibly the beauty of it, they have to look at that.

And something inside of of inside of them begins to begins to invigorate. And they begin to think thoughts like, I know I didn’t create that. I know I didn’t make that sun in the sky. I’m thankful for that sun in the sky because it helps me grow my crops and that sun in the sky because it changes the seasons and that sun brings warmth.

I’m thankful for that sun in the sky, but I know I didn’t put that up there and I didn’t bring these these, these rains that that saturate the ground and grow the crop. I didn’t I know I didn’t do that. So as they began to think those stars somehow or another in their natural mind, no Holy Spirit, no Bible, no pastor, no church in their natural mind, they look at the simplicity of the creation and they have to come to the conclusion, If I didn’t do that, then someone must have.

And if they are not reached through the mission enterprises of the church, they’ll begin to come up with other gods. They’ll have a crop God, a sun, God, a moon, God a day, God a night, God, a rain God, a forest God, a tree, God a frog God. They’ll even come up with a sacrificial system because in their mind, even if they don’t know the one true God, they still know there is a God.

And you cannot force them to deny the existence of God. Their natural mind tells them there is a God. And that is why the judgment they are without excuse. Now, let me point out a couple of things in this passage. This is going to lead us up to other excuses for lifestyles that are forbidden, and those lifestyles will talk in some mature terms about at a later date.

But tonight, I would just want to point out a couple of very, very simple things. First of all, the revelation that removes all excuses. Look at verse number 18 The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all in godliness and in righteousness of men who hold the truth in unrighteousness. Now, look at that arrangement, would you? They have the truth, but they are unrighteous.

We have people in verse number 18 who know the truth, but they’re not Christians. How do they know the truth if they’ve never been to church? How do they know the truth? If they’ve never heard? Pastor Bailey, Here’s how every created human has a God given gift known as a conscience. Now you must be understood understanding of the conscience before we leave the service this evening.

If you don’t know anything about it, I hope we can double or triple or maybe even quadruple your information on the human conscience. Make one thing for sure. Your conscience is not the Holy Spirit. Those are two separate things. Your conscience and my conscience are not the Holy Spirit, but the Holy Spirit can work in tandem with the human conscience and be very persuasive.

Am I right about that? So a lost person who has a conscience can be a appealed to only through that conscience, because even a lost person knows they’re not supposed to kill their infants. Child even a lost person knows that. Even a lost person knows that you’re not supposed to push an old lady down and laugh at her when she falls.

You don’t have to be from New York or from Tampa to know that you can be from the deepest, darkest dungeon of the world. And your conscience forces you to respect the elderly. Am I right? Church Your conscience will force you to have a an appreciation and a protection for human life. Even the most savage women of the world, the most uncultured and ignorant women of the world.

If you try to harm their kid, they’re going to get in your whiskers. You see why the Bible didn’t tell them to do that. They don’t have a Bible. The preacher didn’t tell them. They don’t know a preacher. So how do they know to protect their children, their conscience? How do they know to protect the elderly, their conscience?

How do they know that it’s wrong to murder? Their conscience tells them that. So I’m here to tell you this evening that the revelation that removes all excuses begins in the human conscience. And there’s an alarming revelation in verse number 18. You can know the truth and be unrighteous. You know why Hitler is in hell? Because he knew the truth and continued to be on righteous right?

So what does this mean, this wrath verse 18 that is revealed? It’s it’s made of the word revealed here is actually the same word apocalypse. This is where we get the word revelation from this wrath is made clear. It’s it’s manifest. It’s displayed. It’s it’s sketched out. It’s easy to understand, right? This wrath of God is revealed from heaven against what he calls it, the most general word for sin and godliness.

Now, they may not know it’s sin, but they know in their conscience that they’re doing something that is not pleasing to the gods. And they know that the gods may frown on them and in their interpretation, he may give us a bad crop next year or he may flood our hut next year, or he may he may kill an infant next year.

They don’t know what the gods are going to do. They just know that that ungodly ness is punished. What told them that their conscience, It’s the same thing that haunts a kid. Even children have a conscience. It’s the same thing that haunts the cultured and the civilized and the aristocratic. It’s the same thing that haunts the savage. Doesn’t matter.

Around the globe, nearly 8 billion people around the globe and every single one of them has a conscience. Some of them wound that conscience. You can wound your conscience by ignoring it, right? I was walking through the parking lot one day and there was a little piece of paper.

And I’m telling you, just as sure as a nose on my face. I started to walk over that piece of paper and I thought to myself, somebody else would pick that up. I’m a little too important for that. And I got about five steps and the Spirit of God said, Who are you again? I turned around on my heels and I went back and I knelt down and picked up that paper and brought it into the sanctuary and brought it into this church.

And threw it in the garbage. You know why? Because when your conscience is clear, even the little things bother it. You know, your conscience is being wound. And when you can do worse and worse and worse and it doesn’t bother you, you lie about why you’re not making it into work. You tell people you call and you you kind of sometimes you might, you know, to sprinkle a little Tabasco in your eyes to make them look a little red and watery so that you can.

Boss, I’m sick. I’m not going to make it in the day. You lied. And some people say it was a little white lie and that’s an innocent lie. But what you did was little by little, it’s a death by a thousand cuts. You’re wounding your conscience, and next time it’ll be easier to lie. And easier and easier and easier until lying is so natural to you.

And lying is so useful to you that you would rather lie than tell the truth. A confirmed habitual liar is a person who has wounded their conscience so much and so long that it’s not giving any input anymore. Are you seeing that with me? Your conscience? It may come in the form of saying things that are not true.

It may be something as simple as exaggerating. It may be something as it may be something as complicated as as I when I was in law enforcement, I couldn’t I just I was blown away, by the way, that people would take the Lord’s name and vain to try to prove to us that that dope wasn’t theirs. I mean, I had this I had him handcuffs with his hands behind his back, and I reached in his pocket and pulled out crack cocaine and dope or whatever it was, and held it up in front of his face and said, What is this?

And they say, I have no idea how that got in my pocket. I swear to God. And every time they swear to God while they’re lying a little more silent and a little more silent until they are so accustomed to lying to get out of trouble that they have no conscience about it anymore. Every human saved or lost, every human has a conscience.

And this is why every human at the judgment will be without excuse. I’ve illustrated this before, and I’ll just say it again. Your conscience is not a light, but your conscience lets light in. God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. But your conscience is the window. You or your conscience is the skylight that lets light in.

So in this sanctuary you see we have four major windows. And if this was a an afternoon service or a morning service, the light coming in those windows is better than any light that we can manufacture inside of this sanctuary. Are you with me so far on there? Now, are those four large windows in this sanctuary? Are they a light?

No, but they let light in. Here’s the other problem with your conscience. It not only gets wounded, but your conscience can get dirty and the dirtier those windows are, the less light you’re going to get. Do you understand that? With me, it’s not. There’s nothing wrong with the light. There’s nothing wrong with the sun. It wants to come in, but it’s being filtered through a filthy, dirty conscience.

And sometimes we pick up on a dirty conscience when it begins to manifest itself. Sometimes with people’s humor, they say suggestive things, or they’ll speak things in the presence of a lady and make that lady blush. I’ve done things. I’ve said things before on accident that I didn’t intend to say and didn’t and didn’t mean it that way.

But it was taken as an off color comment. And you say, Oh, don’t worry about it. No. If you’re if you say if you tell yourself all the time, don’t worry about it, you are dirtying your conscience. No, you shouldn’t be worried about it and you should go back and apologize. You know why? Because an apology is the squeegee.

Write this down. If you can’t remember the sermon and I. Apologies are the squeegee that applies the soap on that dirty window and wipes it off so the light can keep coming in. Do you understand? Let me prove to you that you have a conscience. A large portion of you all in here are drivers. Right now. You’re driving along Kings 60 MLK or 579 is where Bart likes to come here.

574 You’re driving along some interstate or whatever, and you’re kind of booking along there pretty good. I’ve seen some of you drive, you’re booking along there pretty good and everything seems fine. You don’t feel bad about it until one until you pass a sheriff’s deputy. Why? And here’s what the Bible says about that. The Bible says where there is no law, there is no transgression.

But as soon as that law officer shows up, you might get accused. So here’s what the the dirty conscience of a person will do. It will push the limits of the law to them. They will stretch the limits of the law until they almost snap. And then when the when that person is confronted to get out of trouble, they’ll say, well, I didn’t know the speed limit.

I was, oh, I remember where I was. State Road 60 out there. What is it, Holloway Road. You know that road. Now, let me just tell you, the speed limit. There is 35 miles an hour. I found that out the hard way. I was driving along there and a sheriff’s deputy stepped down in front of me, waved his arms up in front of me and stopped me.

I was driving 50, which is normally my my cruising speed. And he stepped out in front of me and he stopped me like this. He came over to the to no blue lights. He had a I saw a motorcycle or two parked over there to the side and they’re just clocking and stop in traffic with their hands. So his deputy stopped me Hillsborough County deputy and and being a Second Amendment person, I put my hands on the wheel because I had a firearm.

And and I told that deputy when he came to the window, I said I said, here’s my concealed carry permit. I’m a firearms holder. And he said, Well, where is it? And I said, It’s right over here. And he said, okay, don’t reach for it and everything’s going to be fine. And he looked at my license. He said, Mr. Brady, you know, the speed limit on this road.

And I said, Well, I’m going to give it a good guess. 45 He said, You know how fast you were going? I said, Well, I was going 50, so that’s not too bad. He said, The speed limits actually 35 miles an hour, you know, I said, Next. So we’ll all sir, I didn’t know that, you know, He said, next.

He said, Ignorance is not an excuse. Do you have to carry a law manual around with you everywhere you go to tell you your right or tell you you’re wrong? No, there are obvious applications and you can’t plead you can’t plead ignorance in court. There’s either guilt or innocence. Now, listen to me. I want to make a point out of this.

I don’t want to lose you on your body. Works the same way. When I was a kid, we didn’t have heating, and that mobile home we lived in would get frigid cold in those south Georgia winters. I mean, if if that temperature went below 40 degrees, we would freeze in that house. We had electric blankets and we did everything we could to stay warm.

One of things mama would do is she turn on all four eyes on the stove and turn on the oven and open the door and just let that heat in the morning time. While we were getting ready, we would bring our clothes into the kitchen. We’d all be getting dressed in the kitchen because. That’s where the that’s where the source of heat was.

And when I was a little boy, I remember one time put my hand, she had turned it off and we were getting ready to leave. And when she turned it off, the air cooled down and turned back black. But it was still hot. And I touch that, that I and as soon as I listen, when I touch that, I do you think my body said, now wonder if that feels good or not, huh?

You know what my body did? My body instinctively drew back from me. You know why it’s called pain. And it’s not always bad. You see, the world is trying to convince you, Oh, you should live with no pain. No, no pain tells you something wrong is happening. Pain tells you something bad is going on. That’s the conscience. And the world tries to inform us and tell us you should never feel guilty for anything you do.

You can be any sexual character you want to be. You can be any any perverted person that you want to be. And nobody has a right to tell you you’re guilty. And as long as we let the world keep numbing that conscience, we are sending people to the judgment unprepared to meet God. And they think they’re going to heaven and they don’t find out differently until they get to the judgment.

And God says, you’re not going to make it. How terrible your conscience is. Your friend. Did you hear what I just said? And there have been times in my 37 years of being saved, there’s been times when I did not maintenance my conscience the way I should. There have been seasons and times when I did not tend to the needs of my conscience.

And my conscience got my conscience got fearfully quiet or my conscience became numb in some cases. And and there were I noticed myself laughing at things that I shouldn’t be laughing at. And I noticed myself, I noticed myself enjoying certain humors that I shouldn’t be enjoying. And these are all symbols that your conscience is in deterioration. And I had to reverse that in my life.

I had to start doing things to purposefully and deliberately cultivate a clear, clean informing conscience that told me when I was doing right or wrong, whether I had a Bible in my hand or not. I still have the law written in my heart. That’s what the Bible says right? So Paul writes here and he says, There are people who hold the truth.

The end of verse 18, and yet they are unrighteous. What is that? He doesn’t use the word, but he’s talking about the conscience. Now, I’m going to quit really soon. Look at with me, if you would, verse 19, because that which may be known if God is manifest, what does it say? Church in them. They’re lost. But there is an image of God that has been stamped on to them.

It is in them. They can’t get enough. They can’t get enough mascara to cover it up. They can’t get enough piercings to cover it up. They can’t get enough tattoos to cover it up. They can’t get enough body altering surgeries to cover it up. They can even change. They can even surgically change their gender from male to female or from female to male.

But that still doesn’t change what is in them. Do you see that they can become cross-dressers, but it still doesn’t change what is in them? Do you see that in verse number 19? That which may be known of God? Now imagine that circumstance with me. What can a last person know about God? Well, maybe just that he exists.

So let’s just start there. Just the existence of God is verse 19 manifest in them for God He says, and verse 19 hath showed it unto them. I want to, if I may close by giving you the illustration of a particularly unfortunate young woman. She was profoundly deaf and due to some other circumstance at a very, very young age, she was also made blind, deaf.

She cannot hear a preacher blind. She cannot read a Bible. She became a project and people marveled at the advances that were being made. If you’re in here and you’ve done any reading at all, you might have heard of this girl. Her name was Helen Keller. You remember her? My wife and I. I was preaching once in the state of South Carolina or Mississippi.

I think it was I was preaching in Mississippi. We actually went over into Alabama to the to the home where Helen Keller was raised. Helen Keller became the project of of a of a woman, a nurse by the name of Anne Sullivan. And while everybody else had given up on Helen Keller, couldn’t be corrected, she became defiant. She became willful.

They would place some food in front of a room. When she would smell it, she began to cram it into her face and shove it up her nostrils. And she had no table manners and mom and dad being cultured. Southerners, they they just started to get embarrassed of Helen Keller. And they were they were just frustrated. What are we going to do?

How can we. Teacher How can we. Trainer So they finally found Dan Sullivan and Anne Sullivan. If you’ve never seen that Helen Keller movie and Sullivan began to do sign language and communicate sign language, the only way she could do Helen Keller, which was by making the symbols in the palm of her hand. If you ever seen that movie, she began to to spell out the word water in the hand of Helen Keller.

And then she would take Helen’s hand and stick it under the water. Helen Keller would splash in, mess around and get defiant and and Sullivan would take her, take her little hands and hold them up to her face and shake her head. And she would say, Helen, no. And then she would do it again. Water. And then she would stick her little hand under the water, hoping that she would identify that sign language with that physical experience of touching water.

If you’ve ever seen that movie, it’s a tear jerker. The day that Anne Sullivan finally broke through to Helen Keller, she was trying as as frustratingly, she could water water and she would touch the water. Water as she would touch the water. And finally, it’s like the light came on and Helen Keller finally got it. And then she signed it back to Anne Sullivan and touched the water.

And a breakthrough was finally made years later, years later. And I’m talking about years of excruciatingly slow process progress on certain occasions. And Sullivan sat down one day with Helen Keller because Anne Sullivan was a Christian, and Anne Sullivan sat down one day with Helen Keller and began to make the sign language for God. And Helen Keller listened as best as she could with those sensations on the palm of her hand and Anne Sullivan, in a clumsy way, she was able to communicate to Helen Keller.

Helen, do you know God? And you know what? Helen Keller responded. Say she. She signed back to Anne Sullivan and said, I knew he existed. I just didn’t know his name. How does somebody who is blind and never read a Bible, how does someone who is deaf and never heard a sermon know there is a God? Because verse number 19 God has been manifest in them.

Every homosexual knows there’s a God, every atheist knows there’s a God. When they turn adults, they try to say there is no God, but they know better. They know that there is a God. And of all people in society, they’re the most pitiful. These people are the most pitiful. You know why? Because they have they have looked at a lifestyle and said, I cannot have that lifestyle and believe in God.

So what have they done? They have made a conscious decision to say there is no God so that they can behave any way they want to behave. And they think they think that God, if he does exist, he’s like some kind of a grandpa. So just in case they’re wrong, when they get to the judgment, they think God is gonna say, You know what?

I’m going to make an exception for you. But that’s not what God’s going to say, is it? He’s going to say the same thing that he’s going to say to the pygmy in the cave. You are without excuse. What a powerful force. No one is exempt. No one. Did you hear me? No one is exempt from the judgment.

And if you think you can get there and claim ignorance, it will not get you a pass. What do these kids sing tonight? Nothing but the blood. They’re getting it, aren’t they? That’s why we’re training them at a young age. What can wash away my sin? We don’t want them to go to the judgment with some kind of an excuse.

They know that, don’t they? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. And it may not be real to those that little trio of kids. They may not totally understand what they’re singing about tonight, but we’re going to keep repeating it and repeating it and putting it in the form of catechism and song verses and Bible memorization. And Mom and Daddy are going to pour it into them until the urge of their soul, which is to confirm that there is a God, is finally realized.

And then they have to stand accountable before him and receive Jesus Christ as their savior. That’s it. Without excuse.
