Everything Jesus Said About Angels
00:03:50:23 – 00:04:34:14
Yes, he does. Glory be to God. He does healing, doesn’t he? And he does take our burdens and carry them with us. I heard a great preacher say one time, if he’s carrying your burdens and he is under there with you, sometimes that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s going to deliver us out of our burdens, but he’ll deliver us through our burdens and if he puts his shoulder under it with you and just lifts it a quarter of an inch off of your shoulders, that he’s carrying it with you.
00:04:34:14 – 00:04:54:03
And we owe that appreciation to him all the time. I failed him to do that. I felt that relief that comes when the Lord steps in the picture. And that’s always encouraging, always a blessing. Well, you take your Bibles and turn with this. I’m not going to ask you to stand today because this is one of those messages where we’re going to be bouncing back and forth to numerous portions of scripture.
00:04:54:05 – 00:05:27:04
And we don’t have really an introduction to reverse, to necessarily read, but really just a verse that goes with the first point. Now, Syria, we’re in Matthew 13, by the way, and our first point is go excuse me, our series that we have been discussing here for the summer. We’ve called it Summer with the Angels. And today we’re specifically going to be looking at what we could call red words on angels or everything Jesus said about angels.
00:05:27:06 – 00:05:51:19
Now, Jesus said quite a bit. Almost all of it contained in the four gospels, actually three of the four gospels, Matthew, Mark and Luke, especially. And so I want you to find your place with us in the Gospel of Matthew the 13th chapter. And in just a few moments, we’re going to be reading from a few verses. There that will connect this together so that we can get started with today’s word.
00:05:51:21 – 00:06:23:07
Each of the four gospels, if you’re not aware, was carefully tailored and crafted to tell the story of Jesus from a particular point of view. I once read a book called Why four Gospels. We have three Gospels that are known as the Synoptic. Those are Matthew, Mark and Luke. And the reason why they’re called the Synoptic Gospels is because those three gospels have, for the most part, the the same story.
00:06:23:09 – 00:06:48:17
The Gospel of John stands alone. It is entirely different than any of the other gospels. And so it is an outstanding gospel in and of itself. But each of the four gospels tells the story of Jesus with a unique twist or unique detail. But how many of you know they’re all about Jesus? In fact, all 66 books of the Bible are about Jesus.
00:06:48:17 – 00:07:22:24
But the Gospels, especially, they give to us the earthly account while He was actually alive and walking Earth. The Gospels tell us stories of things that transpired and things that took place during that earthly life of Jesus Christ. So the four Gospels break down as follows. Matthew wrote to show the Jewish people that Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament prophecies about the Messiah and to explain what happened to the Kingdom.
00:07:23:01 – 00:07:51:00
The Messiah was destined to establish. Matthew talks about the Kingdom over and over and over and over. If you read the Gospel of Matthew, the Kingdom is impossible to ignore in carrying out that task. Matthew included many of Christ teachings about angels, especially about their involvement in his future return to Earth. Then we have the Gospel of Mark, an outstanding gospel.
00:07:51:02 – 00:08:19:09
And it was it was written to show the Romans, actually, that Jesus was a man of action and authority. You understand that during the days of these writings, the God the nation of Israel was occupied by Roman dispatches and Roman soldiers. So Mark’s gospel contains fewer of Christ’s teachings on angels, but it does have some, and they’re repeated from Matthew.
00:08:19:10 – 00:08:48:17
Then we have Luke of the three, Matthew, Mark and Luke. Luke wrote to show those with traditional Greek values that Jesus fulfills their ideals of excellence. Jesus was the perfect human being. And when I say something you agree with, you’re free to say amen to it. Jesus was the perfect human. He showed compassion for the helpless and a special concern for women and the poor.
00:08:48:22 – 00:09:14:20
If you read the Gospel of Luke and commentators who write on the Gospel of Luke, you might come to be surprised that it is called the Gospel to Women. So Matthew, Mark and Luke have these outstanding portions that deal with the subject matter of angels. Now, let me, if I may, do just a little extra here, and then we’re going to dig in to the word today.
00:09:14:22 – 00:09:45:11
Matthew and Mark basically have the same stories. And when you read the angelic accounts in the Gospel of Matthew and then transition in the mark, what you’re going to find is that Mark basically repeated virtually word for word, some of the same things that were mentioned in the Gospel of Matthew in regard to angels. So what we study in Matthew will satisfy our curiosity about what is also in Mark.
00:09:45:11 – 00:10:10:07
He still with me today. And then Luke gives a almost entirely different account of the angels. So our intentions are as follows We’re going to study Matthew and Mark today in everything that Jesus had to say about angels and those two Gospels. And if the Lord’s willing, we’ll come back next week at the Lord. Terry’s is coming, and we’ll look at what Jesus had to say about Angels in the Book of Luke.
00:10:10:09 – 00:10:31:19
So turn with me, if you would. Matthew, Chapter 13 and I want to begin today, if I may, talking about Jesus teachings, about angels, specifically in the Gospel of Matthew, but also covering the contents of the Gospel of Mark. Matthew 13 Let me direct your attention, if I may, to verse number 37 and why you’re finding your place.
00:10:31:19 – 00:11:04:07
Let me tell you where we are. Matthew 13 contains a series of teachings and parables that we know as the kingdom. Parables. Now, the kingdom is what we’re all excited about. I don’t get excited about Republicans and Democrats anymore. I get excited about Jesus is coming. And when we think about the kingdom coming, it reminds us of so many different things that we are commanded to focus on and pray about.
00:11:04:09 – 00:11:31:09
We’re let our affections not be in this world, but in the world to come. What the Colossians says in Matthew, Matthew six Jesus actually instructed us to pray our dark kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven. So the Kingdom is a major point of emphasis in our in our devotions. And it’s a major point of emphasis in our belief system.
00:11:31:11 – 00:11:59:07
In Matthew 13 has these parables of the kingdom from the top to the bottom. When you read the 13th chapter of the Gospel of Matthew, you read about the Sower and the Seed and Chapter 13 verses one through 23, you read about the wheat and the tares versus 24 through 30. You read about the mustard seed and the leaven verses 31 through 35.
00:11:59:07 – 00:12:29:14
You read about the explanation of the wheat and tares beginning in verse number 36, going down through verse 43. You read about the pearl of great price verses 44 through 46. You read about the net where a great multitude of both fish and trash are caught in the net. Now, let me just, if I may, before we get to the meat of this point, let me just mention that net.
00:12:29:16 – 00:12:56:05
If you’ve ever faced with a saying that I’m not talking about a cast net, but a saying net, there are some saying nets that can be miles long and they can be stretched across shallow bodies of water and and fish just swim into those. And then the next day or hours later, a fisherman will come and draw that net in with whatever has been caught in it.
00:12:56:07 – 00:13:32:05
Sometimes they catch good fish, sometimes they catch license plates, sometimes they catch delicious fish, and sometimes they catch trash, garbage debris. Now, when that when that fisherman, that mariner is pulling in that net, he has to have the ability to take the good and put it into the put it into the tank of fish and then throw away the bad.
00:13:32:07 – 00:13:56:00
Now, what do you think this is talking about? This is talking about the final judgment where the Bible tells us there are going to be angels gathered together and those angels are going to harvest out of this enormous net which catches both good and bad. By the way, it’s a type of the church this church catches in our community, both good and bad.
00:13:56:02 – 00:14:27:05
And we are just fishing. That’s all we’re commanded to do. We’re not commanded to judge what may be good or bad, or make a determination on what may be good or bad. We’re just commanded to go and stretch the net and catch every thing that we can possibly catch at the judgment. However, there is going to be a separation from the fish and the trash, and the trash is going to be discarded and burned.
00:14:27:07 – 00:14:51:22
It’s a pretty vivid illustration. Wouldn’t you agree? So these are the types of parables that are being given in Matthew chapter number 13. Now, I would direct your attention to verse number 37, where you look there with me. The Bible says in Matthew 1337, he answered seven of them. He did so with the good seed is the son of man.
00:14:51:24 – 00:15:18:09
Now, apologies, apologies. But let me push Paul’s and ask you to time out with me. Although I don’t like you reading, he had to stop. All right, so here’s the story. He has been he has given a parable of the sowing of the seed, and some seed fell into stony ground. Do you remember? And the Bible says that that seed that fell in the stony ground, it began to root.
00:15:18:09 – 00:15:48:08
But it j rooted because the stone underneath of the topsoil caused it not to root appropriately and bind by it didn’t bring forth any fruit when it fell into stony ground. Then he said, some seed fell into wayside ground. Wayside ground is the path where people walk or today where we drive the tractor and the seed that was sown into wayside ground finds itself vulnerable to the birds of the air.
00:15:48:10 – 00:16:10:23
You ever been to a just just this field back here behind our church? If you’ve ever mowed that field. It’s amazing. Run after you mow that field. The grasshoppers don’t have anywhere to hide. The bugs don’t have anywhere to hide when that tall grass is mowed down. And I’ve noticed rot behind that mower. Birds will come down and begin to eat those things.
00:16:10:23 – 00:16:35:15
Well, that’s the way he said. The sower, when he goes on to the wayside ground is as soon as the sower walks past and is gone, the birds of the air come and grab up that vulnerable seed Because it’s exposed, something falls by the wayside. Then he says, some seed falls among thorns, and when it falls among thorns, it may try to Germany, it may try to grow up.
00:16:35:17 – 00:17:03:05
But it says the thorns choke it out. There’s too many weeds competing for that real estate. And so the thorny ground bind by once again has no fruit. Wayside ground the result No fruit. Stony ground. The result, No fruit. Thorny ground. The results are no fruit. But then he says, Praise God, some of it falls into good ground and it finds a place to root.
00:17:03:07 – 00:17:23:20
And as it grows down, it can’t resist the urge to grow up. And as it roots itself deep and in that moist soil, that good ground, all of a sudden that chute comes up. That is expose so that we can see how many of you know that Christians have roots that you can’t see and fruits that you can see.
00:17:23:22 – 00:17:58:00
And so as that ground begins to produce fruit. Here’s what he said. He said, now we have seen something that is productive. Now we’ve seen something that’s genuine, that’s real, and brings forth that important fruit. Now, am I permitted to sit in judgment of what kind of ground you’ve been planted in? You may be on stony ground, thorny ground, wayside ground or good ground, but the truth is, in these passages, in these kingdom parables, he says, the church is going to catch all kind of fish and trash.
00:17:58:04 – 00:18:17:15
The church is going to sow seed on all kinds of ground, he says. But you be careful not to pretend to know the difference. There’s going to be wheat and pears. And he says, Don’t try to separate them during the church age, because if you do, you’re going to hurt the wheat while you’re trying to condemn the tears.
00:18:17:17 – 00:18:42:16
And listen to me closely. If we can’t do it, if we can’t make a judgment, then who does? Are you looking at your Bible? Verse 37 again? He says he so is the good seed is the son of man. The field is the world, the good seed of the children of the kingdom. But the tares are the children of the wicked one.
00:18:42:18 – 00:19:24:07
Now look at verse 19 very closely. The enemy. Who is there? Somebody give me your best guess. The enemy that sold them as the devil. The enemy that sold them is the devil. The harvest is what church? The end of the world and the Reapers are the angels. There’s going to come a day when God is going to assign angels with the particular assignment, the particular responsibility of separating the trash from the fish, the wheat from the tares, the bad soil, from the good soil.
00:19:24:09 – 00:19:52:17
He goes on and he says in verse number 40 as there. Now you notice these are red words. This is what Jesus said about the angels, as therefore the tears are gathered and burned in the fire. So shall it be in the end of this world. The son of man shall sin forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom the things that what a friend, and then which do iniquity, and shall cast them into a furnace of fire.
00:19:52:17 – 00:20:35:18
There shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. The angels without emotion, the angels without any symptoms mentality will go and gather the trash from the net will go and gather the fruitless bushes, the fruitless growth. They will go and gather all of that for the purpose of judgment. At the end of the age. And the first thing Jesus had to say about them reminds us again, is that they will be present and busy at the end of the age.
00:20:35:20 – 00:20:58:19
Can I show you another one? Turn with me, if you would, please, to Matthew 16 This time, by the way, in verse number 49 of Chapter 13, he says, So shall it be at the end of the world? The angels shall come forth and sever the wicked from among the just. They have that ability. Now turn with me, if you would, please, to Matthew 16 this time.
00:20:58:21 – 00:21:28:23
And another important discussion is offered to us by Jesus in connection to Angels. Matthew Chapter 16. Look with me. Verse number 24, then said Jesus and to His disciples, If any man will come after me, let Him not deny himself, take up His cross and follow me. If that was the subject today, I could spend an hour talking about that one verse.
00:21:28:23 – 00:21:53:01
But that’s not the subject. Verse 25 says, For whosoever will save his life, shall lose it. And whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. Now, for what is a man profit. And if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul, what shall a man give an exchange for his soul? For the son of man?
00:21:53:01 – 00:22:37:03
Look at verse 27, Especially for the son of man shall come in the glory of his father. What does it say Next Church with his angels. And then he shall reward every man according to his works. So once again, we have the angels present at a judgment. And this judgment is especially unique because it says in verse number 27 that on this particular occasion, the matter that seasons, this judgment will be the glory of the father.
00:22:37:05 – 00:22:57:23
Now, you all know, as we’ve said before, that angels are particularly interested in channeling glory to God. They are forbidden to keep any of it for themselves. They are forbidden to to to be stingy with it. They won’t share it with each other. God’s glory doesn’t belong to any of the angels. They won’t share it with you and me.
00:22:57:23 – 00:23:24:17
God’s glory doesn’t belong to you or me. But the angels have mastered the ability to take the praise and worship of the ages and interpret it in such a way that God receives maximum glory. God gets outstanding glory from the angels. And it says in verse number 27 that is going to be the theme on this particular day.
00:23:24:19 – 00:23:45:22
And it says that they are going to be there. Those who saved their lives in this world that are going to lose it on that day, and they are going to be those who watch this with me, who lost their life in this age and in this world that are going to be saved on that day. It’s an interesting concept.
00:23:45:24 – 00:24:27:06
If you live for this world, you’re a loser in the world to come. If you live for the world to come, you’re a winner. At the judgment. The angels will be there keeping score. And the angels are going to watch as the people of God or actually the people of the entire globe in ages past and in ages to come, people are going to be paraded before God with one criteria the angels are going to be watching as the question is asked, Did you give me your life in the world?
00:24:27:08 – 00:25:05:01
That means we were givers and we did not give to this world programs and this world gimmicks. We gave with full anticipation and hope that one day we will see that gift again in heaven. And I can promise you, you will. We are those who are willing to be aliens and strangers in this world. Unaccepted, ridiculed, persecuted. We’re willing to lose our life in this world because we know that if we lose our life here, we will gain it in the world to come.
00:25:05:02 – 00:25:49:13
And the angel to have a front row seat to watching this, these degrees of devotion that you and I have. This is a theological turning point in the Gospel of Matthew, because until this point, Jesus directed his message about his Messiah ship and his kingdom almost exclusively to the Jewish people. But then we begin the whosoever will. Then we begin the in no matter who it is, whether you get whether you’re Jew or Gentile, whether you’re bond or free, or whether you’re male or female or whatever the case is, if you devoted yourself to Jesus in this world, you will have incredible gains in the world to come.
00:25:49:15 – 00:26:14:12
The angels will be there. Can I show you another turn with me, if you will, this time to Matthew 18. I hope I’m not losing your interest in this. Jesus had something else to say about Angels in Matthew chapter 18. I think it’s an important discussion. Excuse me, Matthew 16. I apologize. Turn with me there to Matthew, Chapter 16.
00:26:14:14 – 00:26:25:15
I’m sorry. I’m running on a wild goose chase. Matthew 18. I’ll get this right. Sooner or later, somebody won’t come Take over. Matthew 18.
00:26:25:17 – 00:27:05:05
And I’d like to show you verse number ten now. Matthew 18 has a context. He’s talking about little ones. Let’s identify who those little ones are before we read about them. He has been sitting among the disciples. If you just imagine this with me. Jesus. Sit. And when he sits among the disciples, there’s a scuttlebutt that’s circulating around about this kingdom teaching and all of these great truths, and they’re wondering who’s going to be the greatest in the kingdom.
00:27:05:05 – 00:27:34:06
Cause you’ve got Peter there. He’s jockeying for that position. He wants to be the greatest in the kingdom. James and John have done an in route around Peter because they got their mama to go to Jesus and they persuaded their mother to plead with Jesus that in the Kingdom James will be sitting on one hand of Jesus and John will be sitting on the other hand, one on the right and one on the left.
00:27:34:07 – 00:27:51:11
They don’t know what they’re talking about because the people on the right go to heaven. The people on the left go to hell. And so Jesus looks at them and he says, Y’all don’t even know what y’all are talking about. So let’s just stop all of the competition. Peter wants the big chair. James and John want the big chairs.
00:27:51:16 – 00:28:22:15
So Jesus sits down on the chair and he calls a little child to him. And when this child comes to him, as appears from other portions, that Jesus takes the child up and sort of bounces this boy or this girl on his knee, and he looks at those competitive disciples and he says, Unless you have the faith of a little child, you shall in no was even enter in to the kingdom of heaven.
00:28:22:17 – 00:28:54:00
They’re astonished because they’re supposed to be grown. They’re supposed to be mature. And Jesus said, Except to be converted and become as little children, ye shall, in. And this is where we got the term simple, childlike faith. Right? You’re still with me. And Jesus says something interesting. He connects us to angels in verse number. In the earlier verses, he talks about a fence as if you’re off and you look at all this, you’re pulling it out of your hand to find the cut it off.
00:28:54:03 – 00:29:27:03
And then we come to verse number ten, and he says, Take heed that you despise not one of these little ones. Look at it for us. Say under you that in heaven, a personal, possessive pronoun there angels do always behold the face of my father, which is in heaven. Now, what is he just telling us here? He is telling us we’re no longer talking about a little child necessarily here, although that’s included.
00:29:27:03 – 00:30:05:23
But what he’s saying is every child of God has an angel that they can call their angel. Your guardian, your protective angel. We’ve come to call it now Guardian angels. I believe I have them. I believe you have them. I believe President Trump has them. And these angels protect us from Satan’s agenda. It protects us from Satan’s desire to take us out prematurely.
00:30:06:00 – 00:30:30:18
Somebody wants me dead. And the angels have been dispatched to this little child of God to keep me safe until God is finished with me. Can I make a profound statement that I hope will just shock you right down to your core? You will live just as long as God wants you to live. The devil can’t kill you.
00:30:30:20 – 00:30:55:14
Hello, Church circle stances cannot kill you. It is when God says it’s time for you to come home that what ever circumstances surrounding that declaration will take us out. In the case of Moses, it was on top of Pisgah and God hugged him to death. In the case of Polycarp, it was a he was burned at the stake.
00:30:55:19 – 00:31:15:06
In the case of Stephen, he was stoned to death. On and on and on and on. I can go. There’s been times when God called his people home. But I promise you, with assurance from the right words in the Bible, nothing can take you out until God is finished with you. And I can assure you another one. I hope this is helping.
00:31:15:08 – 00:31:42:12
The fourth one is in Matthew 22. Now I’m looking at that reference and I’m thinking, I got this one wrong too. No, I didn’t. Matthew 22, This is amateur night at Brandon Baptist Tabernacle. Y’all stay with me, though, all right? Please, Please give me another chance. Matthew 22 this time, and let me direct your attention to verse number 23.
00:31:42:14 – 00:32:31:21
The same day came to him, the Sadducees. Let me just say bad. The sad didn’t believe in angels. They didn’t believe in the resurrection. So they come to Jesus would say there is no resurrection. And asked Him, verse 24, Master Moses said, If a man die having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise up seed under his brother, meaning that if a Jew dies and has no son to inherit his possessions, then his widow is to marry her brother in law.
00:32:31:23 – 00:32:53:19
Somebody pause for a minute. Thank God we’re not in the old Testament because I don’t think my wife’s marrying any of my brothers. I don’t think she’s interested. His widow in the Old Testament was to marry her brother in law so that she could raise up an heir to that estate. Are you still with me now? So then the sandwich you see is the a really?
00:32:53:19 – 00:33:23:00
Really? No. For their grandiose scenarios in verse 25, they say, Now there were with us seven brethren, count them. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven. And the first when he had married his wife, deceased and having no issue or heir, left his wife unto his brother. Likewise, that brother died. So she married a third brother. He died.
00:33:23:02 – 00:34:10:23
She married a fourth brother. A fifth brother. Six. Don’t marry that woman. Six husbands dead. So she marries the seventh husband and the Sadducees. Have a question. Verse 27. Last of all, the woman died also, therefore, in the resurrection. Whose wife shall she be of the servant, for they all had her. Now, here’s the question by and by Who’s this woman going to be married to if she had it?
00:34:11:02 – 00:34:36:01
Let’s call it now, eight. If she had seven brothers and an original husband whom she has been to every one of their funerals, the question they ask is in heaven, who is she going to be married to? Which of those would she be married to? Now, what Jesus says in verse number 29 opens a door for us to investigate the nature of angels.
00:34:36:01 – 00:35:06:00
Look at verse 29. Jesus answered in seven of them, Ye do air or or depending on what college you went to, you do air not knowing the scriptures nor the power of God were in the resurrection. They neither marry nor are given in marriage. Look at verse 30, but are what does it say as the angels of God in heaven?
00:35:06:02 – 00:35:36:04
Our marriage is earthly. It’s an earthly contract, an earthly ceremony. When we get to heaven, we will not be married to who we are married to right now. I would also add, I don’t think we’re going to be ignorant that we were married to that person in heaven. But you understand that the arrangement in heaven is we are going to be married to Jesus.
00:35:36:05 – 00:36:16:00
We are the bride of Christ. So because of that, all earthly marriages are going to pass away at the Rapture. Now, just hang on all those earthly marriages are going to be dissolved and in heaven. Jesus offers a comment to us here. He says, We are going to be as the angels of God. Now, that tells us several things about angels, although that’s not the emphasis of the text, it does tell us that angels do not get married, are not romantic.
00:36:16:02 – 00:36:41:08
And that answers a lot of questions. If you’re not familiar with the Genesis six issue, Angels do not get married, are not romantic, and do not procreate. There are no baby angels that were born to a male and female angel. And in fact, I would add a final fact here. Every angel that we see in the Bible is male and gender.
00:36:41:10 – 00:37:14:15
And how many of you know God’s not in support of same sex marriage. So the angels are not female, the angels are not romantic. The angels do not marry, and the angels do not have children. There are no baby angels there in the Bible, all grown if you want to use that term. Jesus tells us these things with that simple statement in verse number 29 in heaven, we will be as the angels of God.
00:37:14:17 – 00:37:31:12
Can you just just very, very quickly, just give me just another moment or two here. And I’m looking at the time and I know it’s almost gone. We don’t want to the Presbyterian is to beat us to the restaurant. So let’s take a look at one or two more. Matthew 24. I’m almost done. CHURCH And I promise you that Matthew 24 this time.
00:37:31:12 – 00:37:53:09
And I think I got it right for certain. Matthew 24 is that incredible prophetic chapter. The Book of Daniel is the most concentrated form of prophecy in the Old Testament. Matthew 24 is the biggest concentration of prophecy in the Gospels, and the Book of Revelation is the biggest concentration of prophecy in the New Testament. Revelation interprets Matthew 24 and Matthew 24 interprets Daniel.
00:37:53:13 – 00:38:32:02
That’s a lot of information. Go back and listen to the recording. In Matthew 24, an interesting story begins in reflection on the discussion about the end times. Again, look with me, if you would. Diverse number 31. There are actually three references to angels in Matthew 24. He’s been talking about the judgment and in verse number 31, he says, And he shall send his church his angels with a great sound of trumpet, and they shall look at it, gather together.
00:38:32:02 – 00:38:58:20
His elect from the four winds from one end of heaven to the other. In other words, they are going to gather the saved and the just together for the purposes of worshiping God. Now look at with me verse 36 saying Chapter but of that day. And our brother Jeremy did an excellent job talking about false prophets earlier this morning.
00:38:59:01 – 00:39:27:04
And it says in red words, verse 36 of that day and our no with no man and then this. No, not the angels of heaven, but my father only. So although the angels have supernatural knowledge of who is saved and who is, because they’ve been here forever, to see that play out, they do not know when the day of judgment is coming.
00:39:27:04 – 00:39:56:01
One more point. Chapter 25 five and verse number 31. Jump over there with me. Chapter 25, verse number 31. It says, And when the son of man shall come, here it is again in his glory. Yes. Who’s going to be with him and all the holy angels with him? Then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory?
00:39:56:03 – 00:40:28:11
The angels are going to be there at the very end to reveal those who make it into heaven and those who do not. Some years ago I began specializing in the subject of doubt. Now stay with me. As I close Christians who doubt their salvation. These people are everywhere. I was a Christian for many years who doubted my salvation.
00:40:28:11 – 00:40:54:17
I got, say when I was nine years old. I had a wicked, wicked family that the Lord saved me out of. I don’t have a whole lot of entertaining testimony. I’ve never been and I’ve never been in the Hells Angels, I’ve never done dope, I’ve never been an alcoholic, I’ve never been any of those things. But my family did all of them, and I had to come to the conclusion there was a lot of people that sort of frowned on a boring testimony like mine.
00:40:54:17 – 00:41:15:16
I got saved at nine years old. I wasn’t an adulterer, I wasn’t a fornicator. I just got saved when I was nine years old. And people have kind of they don’t they don’t they don’t see any romanticism in that kind of testimony. And I doubt it because my testimony wasn’t very entertaining. It wasn’t very gripping, it wasn’t very compelling.
00:41:15:21 – 00:41:33:00
And one day the Lord revealed to me, I didn’t save you out of those things, but I saved you from those things. Because if I had not gotten saved at night and waited till later in adulthood, I promise you I would have been just like they all all the rest of the babies. So thank God if you got saved young to stay with me.
00:41:33:02 – 00:42:04:02
Are you aware that the angels, although they do not know when the son of man is going to come, they are aware of who’s going to heaven. And are you aware that you have an angel? And that angel apparently is not permitted to cross the line and do the work of the Holy Spirit by affirming your salvation or giving you assurance of your salvation.
00:42:04:02 – 00:42:31:17
But according to Matthew Chapter 24, in Matthew, Chapter 25, Jesus said, The angels are going to be there and they’re going to have the list, the book where the names are written, and your name is in that book. My name is in that book. Jesus said, Rejoice. Not that the spirits are subject done to you, but rather rejoice that your names are what written in heaven.
00:42:31:19 – 00:42:57:19
And I like the old hymn. When the roll is called Up Yonder, I’ll be there. But here’s what I want you to know. The angels are going to supervise. When a soul comes that is lost, it will be discarded and cast in to the lake of fire and brimstone, which is the second death. That place that was prepared for the devil and his angels.
00:42:57:21 – 00:43:18:14
But I believe on that day I’m going to meet my angel and I just get the feeling that my angel is going to stand there that day when I finally make it home. And I’m going to see that I believe I’m going to see that angel. And I believe he’s going to look at me and say, Brand, you made it.
00:43:18:16 – 00:43:44:01
I knew you would. Do you see that with me now? If you don’t agree with this, you don’t have to take my hand at the church. You can just go straight home. But I believe that our angels are going to be present at the judgment. And I believe that when my time comes, the angels are going to say, This one’s yours, Father.
00:43:44:03 – 00:44:13:24
You told me to protect him from his cradle to his grave. And so I did exactly what you told me to do. And his my perseverance, my eternal security. Listen to the angels didn’t die for me. The angels didn’t save me. But God gave the angels to protect me. And I believe even the judgment, the angels are going to rise up and say he’s yours, father, and they’re going to deliver me to God.
00:44:14:01 – 00:44:45:17
And God can look at the angel and say, Well done. I just believe that I’m being protected. I got two or three not convinced. Let me get let’s do another hour. You are in. I just believe that angels have been stationed around my life. I was telling this young lady I was in North Carolina last week, drove up there 10 hours up there, 10 hours back, went through a hail storm On the way home.
00:44:45:17 – 00:45:02:19
Oliver and I, Oliver kept looking at me and said, Dad, can you see can you see that rain was coming down? You talking about a frog choke and gully washer in North Carolina, right in the middle of Charlotte at 5:00 in the afternoon. There’s two places you don’t want to go. Don’t go to hell and don’t go to Charlotte at 5:00 in the afternoon.
00:45:02:21 – 00:45:22:23
The traffic was horrible and the rain was pouring down. And there’s something inside of me that just said, Lord, send your angels to protect us. And here’s a hydroplane car over here, and here’s an emergency vehicles over there. But you know what? We just made it right straight through that traffic, right straight through that town. And God allowed me to be here today.
00:45:22:23 – 00:45:52:12
I just I’m not giving the angels glory. They just do what God tells them to do. But I believe God is going to protect me all the way to the judges at the Angels. And when those judgments, angels are reaching into that net and throwing all those trashy, then all that trash and all that filth of the world, the iniquity and the perverted Revelation 21 eight, the whole liars shall have their part in the the the abominable and the ungodly and all liars.
00:45:52:12 – 00:46:18:15
And they’re passing away all of these false professions and all these false souls. When Brad Bailey’s time comes up, I believe the angels are going to say, Wait, this one belongs to Jesus, and they’re going to look at Jesus and they’re going to say, Congratulations, Lord, He’s yours. You brought him all the way. I don’t know the Lord.
00:46:18:15 – 00:46:45:10
Let me shake the hands with my guardian angel. But I sure hope on that day I’ll be able to at least say something to. But I’ll raise my hands to the Lord and say all the way My Savior led me whatever to ask. Beside who can doubt his tender mercies? Who through life has been my guide? You’re going to make it home.
00:46:45:12 – 00:47:17:03
And God has made sure that the Angels are going to supervise the trip. Were you staying with us together? Congregation for just a few moments of Prayer and Invitation. I know the time is gone, but perhaps you need to come for a visit to the altar. You know, if you’re a believer, all of these promises are true. Somehow or another, though, if you staggered in this place and you’re not a believer, the angels are not going to be so pleasant.
00:47:17:05 – 00:47:41:12
The sight of an angel is going to be an ominous warning. If you’re an unbeliever, the sign of an angel is going to be an ominous warning judgment. It is just ahead. And just like Bill, supervise my entrance into heaven, they will be present to supervise the passing away of those who are lost into everlasting perdition in flames.
00:47:41:14 – 00:48:00:03
If you don’t know Jesus mercy, today is the best day for you to give your life to Him. Does anyone need to approach the altar for prayer? If you do, maybe you’re lost and you want to talk now or after the service. We’re glad to speak with you, but if you’re saved and maybe you’ve seen God’s provision, you just want to give thanks for those things.
00:48:00:03 – 00:48:02:24
You can. The altars are here for you if you need to visit.
